Rosa Caballé assumes the presidency of the Terra Alta Designation of Origin following the resignation submitted this morning by Pere Bové, who has been the president of the Regulatory Council for the past two years. In a meeting held at the Designation of Origin’s Gandesa headquarters, Bové handed his position over to the members of the Regulatory Council, who accepted his resignation. Rosa Caballé takes the reins of the Terra Alta Designation of Origin (DO) with 11 votes in favor and one abstention, and she does so with the desire to begin a new cycle focused on transparency, internal renewal, and defending the collective interests of winegrowers and wineries:
“It’s time to turn the page and look forward. The Terra Alta Designation of Origin must be above personal interests. We are one of the most promising DOs in Catalonia, and we will work to continue growing without losing sight of our objective: daily work for our wineries, winegrowers, and winegrowers.”
Born in Batea, Rosa Caballé is a wine grower, the granddaughter and daughter of wine growers. With a life closely tied to the land, she has grown up as part of the cooperative world, joining the Batea cooperative (Celler Batea) as a member in 2008. Caballé has been a member of the governing board of the Regulatory Council since 2023, always working with commitment to defend the interests of her cooperative’s members in particular and the Terra Alta Designation of Origin in general.
