Thirty-three different wine-growing regions participated in the sixteenth edition of the Ecovino Awards, held at the Scientific-Technological Complex (CCT) of the University of La Rioja.
A jury composed of thirty expert judges and chaired by Professor Antonio Tomás
Palacios, evaluated the two hundred and eighty-six entries submitted for the competition, all of them certified organic and accredited with the Euro-leaf.
Wines of all types were tasted (whites with and without contact with oak, rosés, reds
with and without oak, sparkling, sweet, fortified, low-alcohol, and vermouths), as well as musts and vinegars. The overall quality was high, once again placing the cutoff point at 87 points. Therefore, only the highest Silver awards were awarded, very close to the threshold for a Gold medal, set at 88 points.
The Laffort Special Award for Best Eco-Wine Without Added Sulfites (and Gold Eco-Wine) went to
Celler Batea’s Batea Sense Negre 2024, making it one of the most successful wines in this 2025 competition, with two Golds: one for the Primicia White wine, fermented in an Acacia barrel and another for the same Batea Sense Negre 2024.
Once again, congratulations to the entire team for an excellent job.
